The one area of beauty products that I am totally clueless about is haircare, always have been and likely always will be. I use shampoo, occasionally conditioner, mousse and hairspray. I have a straightener (not a GHD), a set of hot rollers, a hairdryer and a curling iron. That’s it.
I’m sorry. I feel as though I owe you more of an explanation as it just seems fitting that a beauty guru would be well versed in hair products and styling techniques too, but I’m really not. To put the icing on the cake, I simply don’t have an interest in hair things, except for ways to remove it from areas that I don’t want it.
My best friend knows this about me and often rolls her eyes at my pitiful collection of haircare products and the way I brush and go in the mornings. Sure, I like to straighten my hair, or curl it using hot rollers. I add a spritz of hairspray and that’s as complicated as it gets. After I had my hair cut last year, twice I’ve blow dried it to a sleek finish. That is makes it a total number of two times that I blow dried my hair last year. I told you, it’s just not my thing.
I actually do own a couple more hair products; a dry shampoo, an argan oil thingy, a gloss spray. I just never use them. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but everything I put on my hair weighs it down and makes it look greasier than usual. I also don’t really enjoy going to the hairdresser. I don’t hate it or anything, but I don’t look forward to it or see it as a pampering session. Even the smoothie bar that services clients getting their hair done doesn’t inspire me to go, and I love smoothies.
For a good few years now I’ve been saying that I win the lottery I’ll hire a hairdresser to come to my house every morning, or just live in my mansion, and style my hair every morning. Would I also hire a makeup artist? No, I like doing my own makeup too much. But hair, I just can’t be bothered with it. I have no flair or patience for hair styling. The reason I started this site was because I wanted to write about, and share things, that I am truly passionate about. I didn’t think it would be fair to include a hair section that would always remain embarrassingly low on content and inspiration for all you beauties dreaming of luscious locks. If you find that miracle hair product that will give me perfect hair with the wake of a wand be sure to let me know, otherwise I’ll just keep buying lottery tickets and writing about makeup.
